Cheyenne Turner received a vision in 1991 and founded
The Eclectic Viewpoint in 1992. It was her mission to spread interesting
and helpful knowledge. She presented forty speakers during the next seven
years and built a large following of supporters.
Millions of people thirst for the kind of knowledge
she presented. Her dream was to expose these ideas to those who want this
perspective, what she called 'The Eclectic Viewpoint.' She passed away
in August, 1998, after amazing
accomplishments but before her dream could be completed.
Two companies were formed to continue her work. Cheyenne's
Dream, Incorporated, is the publisher of this web site and has presented
Zecharia Sitchin and David Hudson in cities outside Dallas. The Eclectic
Viewpoint, LLC, presents speakers in Dallas, Texas. Since we undertook
Cheyenne's dream, we have presented twenty-one events in Dallas as of March,
2002. Since January, 1992, The Eclectic Viewpoint has produced 68 events,
featuring 55 speakers. "Past Events" and "Speakers" in the left panel give
full lists of the speakers and their subjects.
"Stories" includes links to photos showing the social
aspects of our meetings. Although we have no formal membership, regular
attendees consider themselves "members" of a special organization, a group
of friends with similar interests.
Our presentations often challenge mainstream academia,
and our purpose is to provide a different perspective, or "viewpoint,"
of commonly accepted knowledge.
Cheyenne once said, "When you encounter an idea which
may be outside your belief system, don't reject it. Just put it up on a
mental shelf and come back to it when you have more knowledge about the
subject."
Although many of our speakers are motivational and
entertaining, that is not our purpose. We don't try to tell people how
they should live or simply provide entertainment. We choose speakers because
they have valuable knowledge based on facts, not merely theory.
