Were the Greek gods of mythology extraterrestrial visitors who
interacted with earth humans thousands of years ago?
Internationally acclaimed author, researcher, lecturer
releases Odyssey of the Gods, his 25th book since Chariots of
the Gods. The Eclectic Viewpoint is privileged to present him June
11, 2000, at the Harvey House Hotel in Plano.
When Erich von Däniken introduced his first
book in 1969, he ignited the imagination of millions and challenged the
very foundations of many revered institutions.
Now, three decades later, the academic world is beginning
to accept the evidence of numerous scholars, researchers, archeologists
and scientists of many disciplines who are shedding new light on our possible
origins. In view of our own accomplishments in science and technology,
it is no longer quite such a revolutionary idea that there may have been
advanced civilizations who preceded us and who could have visited our planet
in the past. When von Däniken first made his case to the public, however,
most of the academic community was (to put it kindly) ìunsupportiveî of
his concepts.
The dauntless von Däniken has since delivered
more than 3,000 lectures (500 of them to universities) in twenty-eight
countries. He logs approximately 100,000 miles per year visiting remote
sites which inspire his impressive body of work. To date, his books have
sold over 56 million copies; two have been made into motion pictures, i.e.,
Chariots
of the Gods and In Search of Ancient Astronauts. In addition,
his televised series of one hour specials on one of Germany's major networks
had a consistent viewership of seven million. In the United States his
documentaries have appeared on ABC television (9/26/96) and more recently
on The Discovery Channel. Erich von Däniken's Dallas appearance
is being sponsored by The Eclectic Viewpoint, which has been a presence
in the community since 1992. Mr. von Däniken will be available for
book signing after the presentation.
