Struck by lightning in 1975 while talking on the telephone, Dannion Brinkley was later pronounced dead and covered with a sheet in the emergency room of the local hospital in Aiken, South Carolina ...

In a presentation to The Eclectic Viewpoint, Brinkley, an ex-marine and defense contractor who designs, builds, and sells anti-eavesdropping equipment and other technology to the U.S. Government, will describe the experience he had while in this near-death state. A "being of light" appeared and told him that he must return as he had a special mission to complete. Brinkley was given a list of seven components that he was to use in developing a new machine and therapy to heal stress — quite a departure from equipment he was accustomed to designing.

Brinkley was also told of many things to come in the future. Of the 117 predictions he heard from this "light-being," 95 have come to pass at this time. The experience left Brinkley clairvoyant (the ability to see beyond ordinary perception) and he often knows what is to happen in the lives of people he meets. He says, "It is as though I am inside of them looking out, feeling their fears and anxieties as much as their hopes and aspirations." Many times when he is giving a presentation, he becomes aware of someone in the audience who is in need of help and he will have a special message for them.

Brinkley has been in great demand in recent months helping many people who are ill and approaching death learn in advance how to leave their bodies voluntarily by a technique he has devised with Dr. Raymond Moody in a laboratory known as the Theatre of the Mind. Dr. Moody, an M.D. and professor, is well known for his studies of the Near Death Experience (NDE) and author of many works such as Life After Life, Reflections on Life After Life, The Light Beyond and Coming Back. In a September television program, both Dr. Moody and Brinkley demonstrated this technique in their laboratory using Joan Rivers as their subject. They also discussed their theories and experiences on The Oprah Winfrey Show and Larry King Live.

At the invitation of Boris Yeltsin, Dr. Moody and Brinkley, referred to as Dr. Death and Lightning Boy, recently presented a week of lectures at the University of Moscow. It seems that millions of Russians had read Life After Life in pirated editions.

Dr. Moody's book, Reflections on Life After Life, is dedicated to Dannion Brinkley. In his lecture to The Eclectic Viewpoint, Brinkley will discuss many of his experiences as well as those reported by others having an NDE. He says that every feeling and thought he had ever had, every person he had ever known, and how his interactions with them had affected their lives was flashed before him. In a nonjudgmental way, the "light-being" helped him realize that only deeds performed from the motivation of love for others are important.

Many people undergoing near death encounters of extreme duration report going to institutions of higher learning where universal knowledge about all things is instantly known. One person reported that after his return from an NDE he was interested in subjects that had bored him previously. He found himself writing mathematical formulas and repeating the name Planck. After going to a library he was amazed to discover information about the Planck Constant and the formulas he had been writing.

Some persons report that on their way to the light they see people wandering around like lost souls who are so attached to someone or something on the earth plane that they cannot move on. Brinkley will discuss what causes this phenomenon and why suicide is not a good choice for those wishing to escape the problems they are having in this life.

Brinkley will also discuss and demonstrate his extraordinary ability to see or perceive realities beyond those normally available to our five senses. He will give techniques to those in the audience for developing their own perception abilities.
